Fair Is Fair For Our Young People

Blackie River Community Group is hosting a training fair to give young people between the age of 16-24 the opportunity to see what courses and programmes are on offer within their local area.

Taking place on Wednesday, 15th January at St. Mary's University College, the centre has engaged with local MP, Integrated Services for Children and Young People and the Department of Employment and Learning to put on offer a "one stop shop" for people to call in and gain information and advice about training and education programmes, West Belfast MP Paul Maskey said: "This fair is designed to offer young people a better view of what's available for them, whether it be an educational route they would like to go down, advice on employment opportunities or help in finding and undertaking training programmes best suited to giving them the opportunity to build on the skills they may already possess or would like to gain.

Representatives and advisors from organisations offering training in computers, software design, youth employment, apprenticeships and personal development will be on hand throughout the day. If you are interested or would like to find out more information, visit the fair at St. Mary's University College on Wednesday, January 15th from 2pm to 5pm.
